circa 1980, 24 1/4in. unsighted, unsigned nitro reproved barrel (in 2023), the nocksform engraved with the calibre designation, the receiver mounted with a Leupold FX-III 6x42mm telescopic sight, serial no. 121148N, hinged floorplate with push button release, blued finish overall, highly-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, chequered steel pistolgrip-cap, sling eyes, fleur de lys bordering to the chequering, dark wood finial, 13 7/8in. pull, weight 8lb. 13oz. in a full length case
Provenance: The vendor of this lot has kindly forwarded the following correspondence from John Bollinger (Junior):
"Thank you for your message. That is a very nice rifle. My father started our small family rifle business approx 40 years ago. I, John Jr have worked with my dad in the shop for the last 25 years. My father actually retired 5 years ago. Your rifle may have been his personal 25-06 from way back. He hunted with a very similar 25-06 when I was a kid. There is really no way to know for sure since our serial number log program was destroyed by a hard drive failure. The style of the stock and the components used dates the rifle to way back in the beginning of his career. I would estimate it was built close to 35-40 years ago. Very cool to still see some old pieces around in very good condition it appears. I hope all this helps"
